Susan grew up in Queens, New York where she was immersed in a sea of different cultures. This exposure led her to study sociology in college and subsequently obtain a Master’s degree in Quantitive Analysis in Social Sciences from Columbia University.

Recruited into a predominant financial services firm, she quickly found herself immersed in corporate America. Dissatisfied with the grueling hours in finance, she transitioned to corporate retail where she performed quantitative analysis for Ross Stores, Victoria’s Secret, Ann Taylor and Carter’s.

After having twins, the fast-paced corporate world was no longer manageable. Despite years of trying to make it work and landing her dream job, she and her husband uprooted and moved to Suwanee. They wanted a more peaceful and balanced life for themselves and their children. She happily admits it was one of the best decisions she’s ever made.

Susan did yoga on and offthroughout her adult life, but found Functional Yoga Medicine offered something special. After months of consistent practice, she joined the YTT program and graduated in January 2025.
