Christina Scourlas
Registered Nurse, FYM Certified Practitioner, Yoga Practitioner
Christina’s journey from the fast-paced world of nursing to the serene realm of holistic health is a testament to her resilience and commitment to personal well-being. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Montreal, Canada, Christina’s early years instilled a deep sense of compassion and care for others. She later found herself drawn to Upstate New York, where she pursued her calling in nursing, graduating with a bachelor’s degree and diving headfirst into the demanding environment of the ICU during the tumultuous COVID pandemic.
However, the intensity of her work took its toll, leading Christina down a path of burnout and emotional exhaustion. It was during this challenging time that she discovered solace and renewal in the practice of yoga. What started as a means of self-care quickly blossomed into a passion, providing Christina with physical strength, emotional resilience, and spiritual grounding.
Tragically, the journey towards holistic healing was further fueled by the loss of a cherished loved one, prompting Christina to reevaluate her priorities and pursue a more holistic approach to health and wellness. In November 2023, she bid farewell to the hospital setting and embarked on a new chapter dedicated to holistic health and healing.
Today, Christina is a registered 200-hour yoga teacher. Drawing upon her nursing background, she offers a unique blend of compassion and expertise in her teaching. Certified in Yin Yoga, she guides her students towards deep relaxation and inner balance, weaving together well-being’s physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.
Christina’s unique skill set combines her diverse experiences as a nurse in the ICU with her current endeavors as a Functional Yoga Medicine Certified Practitioner. Drawing upon her background in nursing, Christina brings a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and patient care to her holistic practice. Her time in the ICU has honed her ability to remain calm under pressure, make quick decisions, and provide compassionate support to those in need.
As a Functional Yoga Medicine Certified Practitioner, Christina integrates traditional medical knowledge with holistic healing modalities. Her expertise in chakra work allows her to address imbalances in the energetic body, promoting harmony and vitality. Through her yoga teaching, Christina empowers her clients to cultivate strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, guiding them toward holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness.
As a private yoga teacher, Christina utilizes her keen eye for alignment and movement to offer personalized adjustments, ensuring that each client receives individualized support and attention. Her background in IV therapy and dry needling further expands her toolkit, allowing her to address various health concerns and facilitate the body’s natural healing processes.
With a holistic approach encompassing mind, body, and spirit, Christina is dedicated to empowering her clients to achieve optimal health and well-being.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Christina is a proud dog mom, finding joy and companionship in the unconditional love of her furry friend. She cherishes moments spent with her close-knit circle of friends and family, finding nourishment in meaningful connections and shared experiences. With a heart full of compassion and a resilient spirit, Christina continues to inspire others on their journey toward holistic health and healing.
